While the pandemic put a halt to Kiwis heading to Romania for the last couple of years , 2022 saw a number of riders making the pilgrimage to Sibiu to take on the Hard Enduro OG . Mike Skinner , a long-time Romaniac and track manager for the event claimed 16th in the Gold Class this year - the only Kiwi competing in the toughest class and a true Romaniac . Along with Birchy in the Silver Class were four other Kiwis , with Patrick Dillon coming in 23rd place , Dale Bailey coming in 34th , Trent Burgiss in 36th , and the “ world ’ s happiest enduro rider ” - Grant Herbert - rounding up the Kiwi silver class contingent in 54th place of 106 starters .
