AS FOR ME ... Absolutely buggered . Three days , 120 sections , 16 hours of riding and walking sections , countless Cleans , Ones , Twos , Threes and many Fives ( failures ), minor damage to both my Montesa and Bultaco , sore muscles , scratches and bumps . But I survived Kaikoura . It took a full day to clean both bikes , sort out the riding gear and repack the truck . Then another day to recover ! Will I come back ? You bet . We are already planning for next Queens birthday Weekend at Kaikoura and plan to bring even more riders from the North Island . Besides the usual heartfelt thanks to the most important people , the land owners , there are those who spent previous weekends setting out the sections . Thank you . Unfortunately I don ’ t know them all other than the few who roped me in on the day one setup . Also thanks to Club Secretary Peter Hosking who kept the admin sorted , to Patrick Hall , Jules Huguenin , Alan Honeybone and Derek Scott who performed the officiating duties of Stewards and Clerk of Courses and to Simon Jones who worked hard to keep it all together .
