CFMoto ’ s KTM powered adventure bike is finally a reality , with the first examples of the 800MT Sport and 800MT Touring expected to land by year ’ s end . The CFMoto brand as a whole has largely flown under the radar here in New Zealand , but the 800MT looks set to change that as a competitive offering into the cutthroat adventure market that won ’ t break the bank . New Zealand pricing has just been confirmed and it will certainly come as a shock to the established players in the market . Pricing starts at $ 13,490 for the base 800MT Sport , while the up-specced 800MT Touring will retail for $ 14,490 plus on roads . Both are powered by a KTM supplied LC8c parallel twin with a 799cc displacement and 95hp / 88Nm of grunt on tap . Styling is its own distinct take on an adventure bike and is far from ugly , with a cockpit more akin to a BMW R1250GS with a stepped seat sitting behind the rather tall 19-litre fuel tank rather than the dirt focused cockpit of KTM from which the 800MT takes its engine . At the head of the cockpit is a seven-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity and a navigation function built in sitting behind a generous windscreen . Lighting is supplied by LEDs with a daytime running light plus fog lamps as standard kit . Wheel sizes are 19-inch front and 17- inch rear – an ideal compromise for road riding and gravel adventuring – with the Sport tracking on cast wheels and the up-spec Touring on spoked wheels . The rolling chassis is completed by fully adjustable KYB suspension , Spanish J . Juan radial brakes and a tubular steel frame . The two models are separated by a few key differences . The Sport model rolls on cast alloy wheels as already mentioned , with its name implying it ’ s more suited to fun
