BMW CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF GS WITH
SPECIAL LIVERY
T
his year marks 40 years of BMW Motorrad’s
legendary GS brand, and BMW is celebrating
40 years of GS models with a special livery
for some of the best bikes that embody the
spirit of GS.
In addition to the new “40 Years GS Edition”
livery in historic Black and Yellow which is set to
be available on all F-series GS models (we have
no word yet on whether the top dog R1250GS
will also get the same treatment) BMW is also
adding to the standard and optional equipment
for the coming 2021 model year.
While BMW Motorrad NZ has long kept its
models at the top of the range fit-out wise, for
2021 BMW Motorrad is making a global effort to
bring the F-series GS back into the middleweight
adventure fight to take on the fast advancing
technology of the middleweight competition.
As a result, all models will now feature LED
indicators as standard as well as a USB
charging outlet at the front right of the cockpit.
Electronically, ABS Pro and DTC (Dynamic
Traction Control) are now also standard features
for the entire F-series GS line, allowing the midrange
GS models to offer more safety features
against the growing competition.
Additionally, dynamic engine brake control and
Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) now feature in
Pro riding modes. Other new Pro riding mode
features include the pre-selection of up to
four riding modes for the button assignment
on the right handlebar controls (though only
in conjunction with the Connectivity optional
equipment in the BMW F750GS).
An extra-low seat bench, as well as modified
lowered suspension, will be also available
as optional equipment for all three F-series
models ensuring better accessibility for those
short in the inseam.
Another first for the F-Series, and a part that
was previously reserved exclusively for GS
Trophy machines is the optional holder for the
BMW F850GS and BMW F850GS Adventure for
use in mounting the BMW Motorrad Navigator
above the standard TFT display. The ex-works
