GASGAS GOES MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING

Despite their brand name having an undeniable link to internal combustion , GasGas is branching out and diving into the deep end of racing mountain bikes . With the 2023 UCI Mountain Bike World Series on the horizon , GasGas has announced it will be competing in the E-Enduro World Cup with two teams . Hand in hand with major industry partners , the GasGas SRAM Racing team will see Johannes Fischbach and Alex Marin on the pedals at the E-EDR stages , while Simon Carlsson and Alexandre Fayolle will be leading the efforts of the GasGas Motorex Racing team . The upcoming 2023 season sees a whole lot of firsts for GasGas . But most importantly , it will mark the first time the brand has taken on a full season of competition in cycling and mountain biking . GasGas isn ’ t the first brand to do pedal bikes . KTM had a range years ago and Ducati also has a partnership to build E-mountain bikes . By joining forces with industry-leading manufacturers SRAM and Motorex , GasGas says the hope is to show they are taking the expansion into the sport seriously . “ We are entering elite bicycle racing with two dedicated teams and four racers starting in 2023 , and that ’ s a clear statement for what lies ahead for GASGAS , says Head of GasGas

Bicycles Global Marketing , Andreas Gklavas . “ I ’ m excited we ’ re finally able to release the news and more than looking forward to a solid season of E-EDR racing . With Johannes together with Alex on the GasGas SRAM Racing team , and Simon alongside Alexandre in the GASGAS MOTOREX Racing team , we ’ ve built a solid foundation of what ’ s promising to be an exciting championship . With the great support of trusted partners and some great vibes across all members of the GasGas family , we can ’ t wait for the racing to kick off in June at Finale Ligure .” The riders will also be instrumental in helping to develop future GasGas bikes and strengthen partnerships from within our own group of Pierer New Mobility companies . Both teams will benefit from SRAM components and Motorex lubricants . The five-round UCI Mountain Bike E-Enduro World Cup ( E-EDR ) begins in Finale Ligure , Italy on June 2-4 .
