REVIEW
road , I find they ’ re the best compromise I have used across all conditions that still lasts well . On the rear I never go below 30psi .
PRESSURES With the pressures mentioned , caution is still required on a rock fest – no tyre or rim can withstand 300kg + of careless , aggressive use on sharp edged rocks . Even back in the day , dirt bike racing , I never went below 14psi and almost never had flat problems . If you have the right tyre for the conditions that is new and you still have issues with traction - it is your skill level that is the problem , not the tyre .
KNOBBLIES Lastly , for riders not familiar with knobblies , don ’ t be put off . Yes , initially they feel different , they can feel a bit loose and squirm around a bit compared to a more road-oriented tyre . But hang in there , you do get used to the feel , learn to relax and the rewards will come . The safety and control off-road or on gravel outweighs the slight loss of road performance , but the rider confidence that comes from them far out-weighs the slight loss of road performance . I think you ' d be happily amazed at the difference . I will say that some caution should be shown in the wet , but once you ' re used to them , you might be surprised at how well they work in the wet .
