T he Moto Guzzi V7 has been a bestseller of the brand from Mandello del Lario since the new edition was launched back in 2008 . The new machine remained faithful to the expectations and reputation of first 1967 V7 models , the year the first bikes were sold in Italy . Since 2008 the V7 has become a cornerstone of Moto Guzzi ’ s product range , standing out for its substance and design , highly popular with a wide and varied motorcycling public . That said , the smallest Moto Guzzi of the new age never really was a star with some riders ; engine and chassis performance were not of the modern era and the bike was lacking a certain sex appeal . Moto Guzzi says this has changed for the 2021 Euro 5 edition of the V7 . The engineers at Aprilia ’ s Noale HQ reached deep into their bag of tricks to transform the naked bike into a mature machine . The revamp is so profound that the marketing department opted to change the name too . It ’ s now just V7 , without the progressive Roman Numeral numbering that characterised previous models . A testament to the almost total change from every point of view , involving both the chassis architecture and engine , but leaving its loved character and authenticity well alone .

HUGE UPDATES There are now two versions of the bike . First is the timelessly elegant Special with its classic style elements of spoked wheels , round instruments , a traditional headlight and lots of shiny chrome . The second is the Stone , with a more fashionable ‘ bad boy ’ image with black components and matt colours , cast wheels and a round TFT display as well as a full LED headlight . Apart from the differences mentioned , the two ambassadors of Guzzi ’ s classic bike family feature the same technical platform . The core of the redesign is the 853cc air-cooled twin cylinder V-engine derived from the Moto Guzzi ’ s incredibly popular V8TT . Some 65hp has been coaxed from the motor at 5800rpm , with the two-valve engine pushing some 73Nm of torque at 5000rpm through the single-disc dry
