BROUGH SUPERIOR PAYS HOMAGE TO LAWRENCE

B rough Superior has released its latest limited edition creation , with the Lawrence paying homage to the brand ’ s most famous rider . Brough Superior ’ s claim to fame is as the first brand to have produced motorcycles that could go above 100mph , with the brand ’ s most famous rider being British World War One hero T . E Lawrence who passed away while riding one of his favoured bikes in 1935 . After many years Brough Superior was revived in 2014 by French motorcycle expert Thierry Henriette . After relaunching Lawrence of Arabia ’ s legendary S . S . 100 nameplate and collaborating with Aston Martin in the creation of the turbocharged Aston Martin AMB 001 , Brough Superior decided to produce the most high-end motorcycle of the world : the “ Lawrence ”. While Brough Superior ’ s bikes already command a hefty price tag , the Lawrence ups the game further and is hand-built with the best materials available , including titanium , carbon fibre and aluminium . The new bike is based on the architecture

of the current S . S . 100 , with the Lawrence getting its distinct curves thanks to the use of carbon fibre . The frame of the Lawrence is made of titanium , and its fork is a Fior type made of aluminium . Powering the Lawrence is Brough ’ s 102bhp 88 º 997cc v-twin which is also found in the S . S 100 and is pushing a claimed 200kg of weight . Brough isn ’ t going half-heartedly into this limited edition stunner either , with just 188 examples of the Lawrence to ever be made . That number wasn ’ t plucked out of thin air , but represents 1888 , the year in which T . E . Lawrence was born . Pricing is set at € 66,000 with official NZ pricing and availability yet to be officially announced by local distributors Brough Superior Australia .
