DIRT NEWS

TRIUMPH IN THE BUSH

Triumph has just released the details on its new Enduro models and the specs are impressive. In our neck of the woods, pardon the pun, the 250 and 450 should be available in fully-legit road legal spec. In case you were wondering, no, the 450 will NOT be LAMS legal due to pumping out 58.6PS, which is well over the limit for a learner or restricted licence. That said, the 250 looks like it might qualify for the LAMS deal, should you be wanting a bike to get to the trails or do some adventure rides before getting your full licence. For the rest of you dirty buggers, who don’ t need or care about road legal stuff, here is what the new Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E have in store for you … The TF 450-E has Triumph’ s 499cc SOHC engine retuned for enduro and / or trails. The new mapping gives a linear power curve with

58.6PS and a whopping 49.3Nm of torque, assisted by traction control and fuelled by a bespoke
Dell’ Orto 44mm cable actuated EFI throttle body. That power heads to the 6-speed gearbox via Triumph’ s new quick-shifter, so you can snick through from second to sixth with seamless shifts every time. Getting off the line ahead of your mates is simply a case of using the included launch control and hauling up late, care of the Galfer discs( 260mm up front, 220mm on the rear) and Brembo dual-piston front caliper and single piston for feel on the rear. Illuminated switch controls make getting the best out of the machine in dodgy lighting simple and has a full suite of functions that include the details needed should you stray onto the roads.
