DUCATI UNLEASHES 2020 MODELS D ucati has pulled the covers off its fresh 2020 range, including all full range of e-bikes, at the annual Ducati World Première event in Italy. Despite Ducati’s home motor show of EICMA kicking into action in this week, Ducati jumped ahead of the headlines by debuting its full 2020 range ahead of the show circuit competition. Headlining the Ducati World Premiere for 2019 is the all-new Streetfighter V4, which we saw a development version of racing at Pikes Peak this year in the hands of the late Carlin Dunne. Ducati also premiered new models in the Scrambler, Multistrada, Diavel and Monster lines as well as a range of e-bikes to follow in the tracks of last year’s limited edition Mig-RR. Ducati’s Streetfighter enters as the big-bore naturally aspirated contender, with the new Streetfighter V4 utilising the Desmosedici Stradale V4 from the Italian manufacturer’s superbike hero, the Panigale V4. While Kawasaki boosts its way to 200hp with its H2, Ducati uses brute force to lay down 208hp at 12,750rpm from its 1103cc V4 engine. Ducati says the Streetfighter version of the engine utilises dedicated engine mapping to ensure more usability on the street, yet the engine still pumps out essentially the same amount of torque as the Panigale V4 with 123Nm available at 11,500rpm. At the time of writing, there is no word on when New Zealand dealers will start receiving the new models or estimated pricing. Naturally, engine mapping alone isn’t enough to keep the power manageable, so Ducati has not only included a full suite of electronic aids, including wheelie control, but also physical aerodynamic aids in the form of MotoGP- style aerofoils to keep the bike planted. With the emergence of the hyper-naked class, These were designed by Ducati Corse 14 KIWI RIDER
