MONSTER GOES BLACK
F
or 2020 Ducati is taking a dark turn
with the addition of a new colour
scheme for the Monster 1200S.
Ducati’s naked hero will now feature a “Black
on Black” livery with alternating gloss black and
matt black parts. The Monster 1200S will also
remain available in traditional Ducati Red.
This all-new colour scheme offsets its blacked-out
nature with a flash of Ducati red on the rims to help
bring out the sporty heritage of the Monster.
First launched in 1993, the Monster has been one of
the true heroes of the Sport Naked segment since.
Equipped with an up-to-the-minute Testastretta
11° DS engine, capable of grunting out 147hp at
9250rpm and a full, yet linear, torque curve; that
power is safely handled at by a Ride by Wire system
and inertial platform, which provide ABS Cornering,
Traction Control and Wheelie Control functions.
The exclusive S version sharpens the Monster up
to an even finer edge with fully adjustable 48mm
Öhlins forks and monoshock, massive Brembo M50
monobloc calipers clamping down on twin 330mm
discs up front. The 1200S also features wheels with
three Y-spokes, a carbon fibre front mudguard, a
headlight characterised with a Daytime Running
Light and LED indicators. Completing the as-standard
equipment is the up-and-down quick-shifter.
