KIWI RIDER 08 2018 VOL.2 | Page 20

NEW MAJOR TWEAKS FOR ‘19 RM-Z250 uzuki has given its MX2 competitor some love for the 2019 season. Exact details aren’t yet forthcoming but we’ve seen the basics of the new bike. Suzuki has a ‘RUN’, ‘TURN’, ‘STOP’ philosophy to developing its RM-Z range of machines and this coming year’s machine updates cover all three but the major attention has been in the ‘TURN’ category. The first thing you’ll notice is the styling has been updated to bring it into the same fold as its bigger 450 brother. Next, the engine is said to have improved throttle response with 20 KIWI RIDER more peak power, an improved traction management system, updated S-HAC (Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control), a new muffler and new gear reduction ratio. However, the chassis is where the main changes have been made. The bike gets a new frame and swingarm, updated coil-spring forks, updated rear suspension (sounds like either clicker adjustments or valving changes rather than a new unit), Renthal Fatbars as standard and a larger front brake disc. That’s it, that’s all we know about the bike. We’ll tell you what the detail stuff is as soon as we know.
