ROUND SIX
Back to the North Island to finish off the last
two rounds. I finished Hampton Downs with
a 4th overall after some very close racing,
and also learning some harsh lessons on the
down sides of slipstreaming.
ROUND SEVEN
The final round in Taupo finished off the
series quite nicely for me after qualifying on
pole. I got 1st overall for the weekend and set
my third lap record for the Gixxer class.
THE OVERALL
All in all, it was a great season and an
amazing experience. I would encourage
anyone thinking about it to get out there and
have a go. I got the chance to meet a lot of
new people and make new friends along the
way, with the added bonus of coming away
with 2nd overall, which I was stoked with, as
well as three lap records. For now it’s on to
other things for next season, so hopefully we
can secure some sponsorship and set a plan
in motion for the upcoming season!
Huge thanks to John & Mark Whyte of
Whyteline Ltd for not only sponsoring
me, but also being there and supporting
me throughout the season, it is highly
appreciated! Thanks also to Brett Roberts
for working on my bike and the use of the
generator. The entire Team Rees Racing
family, thank you so much for all your
endless support over the season, without
that, I would never have got the results I did,
Uncle Kenny & Korbin for being my awesome
pit crew and Kenny for even coming to
Timaru to support me. Jared Love for giving
me riding tips and the use of pit board, timer
etc; Ekco Drafting Ltd for the use of the trailer
throughout the season; Suzuki NZ for putting
on the great series and Crown Kiwi for the
awesome riding gear. Last but not least...
thanks to Dad for carting me around the
country and spending all his money just to let
me ride, and Mum for making great lunches
and supporting me. There are way too many
people to name, but thank you all.
