PHOTOS: Geoff Osborne Fieldays is the biggest farming event in the southern hemisphere, with a surprising number of motorcycles on display too. Never been to Fieldays? It’s a smorgasbord of anything and everything that’s related to farming – New Zealand’s backbone. That includes motorcycles, most farmers have ridden, or still ride, a dirt bike, and run quads and side-by-sides on their properties, which are catered to by many of the major motorcycle importers. Having a huge shop window like this means anyone who makes farm vehicles will be there. You could easily spend a day just on the motorcycle stands – in fact, that’s exactly what we did. With importers showing off their latest models, there was a heap of bikes to sit on, and it seems the draw to leap aboard and twist the throttle is just as strong for both young and old alike.
