The 13th Vespa World Days continued the
event’s gypsy-like romp around the world by
taking the city of Zanka in Hungary by storm.
More than 3500 Vespas paraded through the
streets of Zanka with every version and every
era on display.
In attendance were roughly 5000 “Vespisti”
who came from 40 different nations to
represent as many National Vespa Clubs as
possible. Along with the expected swarms from
all over Europe, Vespa Clubs from Hong Kong,
Canada, Israel, Japan, The Philippines, Australia
and Indonesia made the journey.
Vespa World Days is held every year under the
94 KIWI RIDER
auspices of the Vespa World Club, established
in 2006, the successor to what was once
Vespa Club d’Europe and later the Fédération
Internationale des Vespa Clubs.
Today Vespa World Days represents the
celebration of the legendary Vespa, the unique
scooter capable of transcending its function as
an easy to ride and elegant vehicle, ideal for any
daily commute, to become a truly international
brand which embodies the universal values of
youth, style and liberty.
Next year’s Vespa World Days will be hosted in
two cities for the first time, Guimarães, Portugal
(July 2-5), and Bali, Indonesia (July 23-25).
