TENERE 700 ACCESSORY PACKS REVEALED, NZ MISSING OUT FOR NOW… The hype for the new Yamaha Tenere 700 is running red hot, and anticipation of the release isn’t helped by overseas media reporting. Recently Yamaha’s European arm announced special accessory packs designed specifically for owners of the Tenere 700 which has just been launched there. Sadly for us, Yamaha New Zealand has confirmed that we won’t be getting these cool new accessory packs which have been released in Europe. At least for now... With the bike still some months away, Yamaha Motor New Zealand is assessing what Kiwi rider’s will want most with the new Tenere and are holding fire on the accessories front for now. What we can be happy about though is the obvious thought Yamaha has put into the official accessories for the Tenere 700. EXPLORER PACK Giving what Yamaha calls “an enhanced long distance road riding experience together with high versatility off road,” the Explorer Pack features lockable aluminium panniers with 72 litres of secure carrying capacity, plus a main stand to allow for stable parking and ease of maintenance. 18 KIWI RIDER The Explorer pack also includes a 33% thicker skid plate that covers a larger area than the standard item, and the tubular engine guards which help to protect cases and body panels from accidental damage – and there’s also a mono seat rack that gives added carrying capacity.
