ICE-CREAM RELAY
The Dirt Guide moto-ice-cream relay was
without a doubt an absolute tonne of
organised chaos. We randomly put girls
into teams, gave them a pink armband and
an ice-cream each and then let the chaos
unfold! Girls ran to the ice-cream station,
ate their ice-cream and then took off
around the track for a quick lap. They then
passed their pink armband onto their team
mate who did the same. Once all team
members had completed the circuit, they
all ran together to the ice cream station
to present their sticky ice cream sticks in
the hope of taking the top step. But only
one team could be the winner… and that
honour went to Team Frosty!
TOP COACHING TALENT
New Zealand and Australia has a huge
amount of talent, and the Queens Of Dirt
committee were lucky enough to get a
bunch of them together to run skills and
equipment coaching throughout the day.
Jemma Wilson, Natasha Cairns, Chris Power,
Brad Groombridge, Jake Whitaker, Mark
Delautour, Shaun Prescott and Nathan
Tesselaar all shared a huge amount of
knowledge and skills with our Queens.
The amazingly talented ex-professional
off-road motorcycle racer Jemma Wilson
flew over the ditch from Aussie to help out
with coaching and to be our guest speaker
in the evening. She was such a laugh and
generously shared some insight into the life
of an elite athlete – the highs and lows of
her racing career and some of the amazing
places she got to explore with her racing.
The feedback from the event has been
insane. Wendy Robinson said, “Being
officially the biggest fan of Queens of Dirt, I
have to say this weekend’s event was one of
the best events I have ever been to. It was
so much fun, so incredibly well organised,
so innovative and so exciting! The ice-cream
relay was a real hoot, the skills clinic a truly
enjoyable experience and the track one of
the best I have ridden, not to mention the
sea of smiling faces”.
Tracy Mayo said, “I loved it all! Was really
impressed with the organisers. Everybody
was so approachable, and the goodie bags
were great! The prizes were phenomenal.
Ice-cream relay was heaps of fun and
everything was well accommodated”.
And Shelley Hickman said, “Honestly
it doesn’t get any better! Top tracks,
organisation was 100% and just so much fun
riding and then hanging out afterwards!”
