Holy moly, this thing has acronyms for Africa…
ATC, ALC, ACC, APL, AWC, AQS, and they’re all
powered by the lightweight Bosch battery.
Traction control, wheelie control, launch
control, quick-shift, pit-lane speed limiter, cruise
control, it’s all here. A reasonably intuitive
joystick/TFT display system allows you to
change most engine/electronic parameters so it
can be set up exactly as you want it.
I spent most of my time with wheelie control
turned off and traction control on level 2. This
gave me all the fun of the engine with a bit of
a safety net. Why do I ride with most things
turned off? Well, with all of the controls in
the factory settings, this is a very composed
and fast motorcycle... but I like my litre-plus
race replicas to feel like the monstrously fast
bikes they are. So, I’ll happily exchange some
electronically-enhanced lap times for a slower
lap that has me wide-eyed and having to give
the bike some respect.
