X-RATED APRILIA RSV4
While we already knew Aprilia was
about to debut the latest incarnation
of the venerable RSV4 superbike in full
production form, we couldn’t have seen
this coming.
With the new base RSV4 already pushing
the limits like never before, and the Factory
version upping the ante even further there
didn’t appear to be much more Aprilia
could do to make the RSV4 more of a track
demon. That is, until they pulled the covers
off the RSV4 X.
Aprilia is releasing an incredibly limited
edition run of just 10 units of the bonkers
RSV4 X to celebrate the 10th anniversary of
the RSV4.
The track-only specials are slated to
set buyers back a hefty $65,000 and can
22 KIWI RIDER
be reserved exclusively online from the
second half of April, by heading to the
factoryworks.aprilia.com. Those lucky
enough buyers will have the chance to
collect their bike from Aprilia Racing and
enjoy an exclusive tour of the Noale racing
department.
With a dry weight of just 165kg and power
boosted to 225hp thanks to tweaks to the
1100cc 60-degree V4 the RSV4 X boasts a
ballistic power to weight ratio of 1.36hp
per kilogram.
The featherweight of the RSV4 X was
achieved by stripping the bike back to its
bare minimum and utilising lightweight
components such as a carbon faring and
billet aluminium parts.
