December with a price point of $16,999, just
$650 more than the old XT660Z Tenere.
Based around the 689cc CP2 parallel twin
engine from the MT-07 HO, the XTZ700 is
currently slated to arrive in New Zealand
only as a full power model only at
this stage – we have no info on if,
like the MT-07, a LAMS version
will be made available at a later
date.
Petrie noted at the hugely
successful Yamaha MT Rider’s
Day late in 2018 that the XTZ700
had been delayed due to the
need for the bike to be
redesigned to meet the
needs of adventure
riders.
The result is a bike
with up to 210mm
of travel from fully
adjustable suspension,
21-inch/18-inch
lightweight spoked
wheels with adventure tyres, 16-litre
capacity for 350km+ range and an ABS
system which can be altered on the fly.
Yamaha is now accepting pre-orders
on the highly anticipated adventure bike
through the Yamaha dealer
network.
