DUCATI
LAUNCHES
E-MTB
hile we’re normally used to seeing
a bright red L-twin or even V4 from
the boys from Bologna, this month
the team at Ducati launched something far
more left field into European dealerships –
the MIG-RR.
First seen on Ducati’s stand at last
year’s EICMA Show (and completely
overshadowed by the rather manic
Panigale V4 R), the MIG-RR is Ducati’s first
foray into the world of pedal-assisted
electric bikes.
Designed in collaboration with Thok
Ebikes - the preferred Ebike brand of World
Trials Champion Toni Bou - the MIG-RR is
based on the Thok range of MIG bikes with
a few Ducati specific enhancements with a
livery specially developed by Italian design
house D-Perf for the RR.
An enduro style E-MTB, the Ducati MIG-
RR sports 170mm of wheel travel at the
front and 160mm at the rear for oodles of
off-road performance and four different
chassis sizes to tailor the bike to various
sized riders.
Being a premium product, it utilises top-
shelf components including a Shimano
Steps E8000 motor with 504Wh battery,
FOX Factory Kashima suspension, 4four-
piston Shimano Saint brakes, Mavic wheels
(29-inch up front and a 27.5-inch rear) plus
carbon fibre Renthal handlebars.
Naturally, this all comes at a cost, with the
electric Ducati mountain bike sporting an
eye-watering $10,333 price tag before you
even look at shipping. Ouch.
